Kyle Ballew, DPMDr. Ballew was born and reared in Waco, Texas. He attended Midway High School, where he developed a foundation for many skills and leadership roles. Not only did he participate in four sports, but he served as president of the Key Club, president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, present of the Methodist Youth Fellowship, and treasurer of the Student Council. He was voted Outstanding Citizen during his senior year. He then attended McMurry University in Abilene and was a member of the football and track teams, Treasurer and President of the dormitory, a Resident Hall Assistant, and served on the Student Government. He was voted the highest honor bestowed upon a student by being named "Chief McMurry" his senior year. Upon graduation from McMurry, he attending the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, now known as Kent State University. After graduation, he completed two residency programs, one at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Waco, Texas, and one at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, both devoted to Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He is now board certified by the American Board of Podiatric Orthopedics and Primary Podiatric Medicine. He has served Central Texas in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery for over 30 years, eventually building one of the largest podiatric practices in the state. After selling this large group practice, he has returned to solo practice at his original location on Cobbs Drive.

Dr. Ballew served for thirteen years as a board member of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association and ultimately served as its first two year president. He also helped to found, and subsequently serve for many years on the board and twice as president, the Texas Podiatric Medical Foundation. His work with this group was instrumental in starting two indigent clinics in Mexico. Nationally, he represents Texas podiatrists to the American Podiatric Medical Association in their House of Delegates. His service won him the Texas Podiatric Medical Association's prestigious Distinguished Service Citation in 2012. He continues to serve on many committees, and currently is the chairman of the Texas Podiatric Medical Association's Peer Review Committee. He continues to be a frequent lecturer on podiatric medical topics, both statewide and nationally.

Dr. Ballew treats all foot and ankle conditions. He recently brought cutting edge, peer reviewed, laser technology for treatment of fungal toenails to our area. In-office fluoroscopy (X-rays in motion) as well as gentle treatments for athletic injuries, diabetic feet, bunions, orthotics, ingrown toenails and heel pain are only a few of the services offered by Dr. Ballew. He takes pride in offering comprehensive, detail oriented, and gentle care to all of his patients, young and old.

Beyond the world of podiatry, Dr. Ballew has a wide variety of hobbies and interests. He enjoys studying astrophysics, and he's a "rockhound" with a collection of rocks and sand from all over the world. He also collects knives, an interest he inherited from his father as a young boy, and wooden boxes. Additionally, Dr. Ballew is proud of his Choctaw and Cherokee heritage and enjoys learning about these cultures. He is a long time member of the Woodway First United Methodist Church and the Waco Rotary Club. He is an animal lover and has travelled extensively. Dr. Ballew is an avid sports fan and is having a difficult time realizing that he can no longer participate in these sports as well as he did a few years ago!
